Shooting of sixth season The Crown resumes after Elizabeth’s death Movies & Series

The filming of the sixth season of The Crown resumed a few days after the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, reports people Wednesday. The magazine shares a photo of actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana, during the filming.

The photo is said to have been taken earlier this week. At the time of the photo, a scene is shot in which Diana is on a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina, not long before her tragic accident on August 31, 1997.

The filming of the popular Netflix series was stopped last week “out of respect” for Queen Elizabeth, script writer Peter Morgan said last Friday. The Queen passed away on Thursday at the age of 96.

The sixth season of The Crown focuses on the 1990s, and in particular the period around Diana’s death. It was previously announced that a total of six seasons of the British drama series will appear. The fifth season will premiere later this year.

The role of Elizabeth is played in the last two seasons by Imelda Staunton.
