Review overview: New version Justice League ‘entertaining, but humorless’ | NOW

Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League, the film that he could not finish in 2017 due to private circumstances, can be seen worldwide from Thursday. Reviewers are hardly more pleased with the four-hour film than they were about Justice League by Joss Whedon (from 2017), although there are also some positive reactions.

Justice League van Whedon, who took over from Snyder in 2017, was received poorly. After a call from fans, Snyder decided Justice League can still be mounted to your own taste. The superhero film, with starring roles for Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill), lasts more than four hours and at least half of it consists of new scenes.

Deadline – does not give stars

You could praise Snyder for maintaining the same atmosphere in his film for four hours, but it’s a shame he didn’t try to add some variation, also because all the characters are so incredibly one-dimensional. to be.”

The colossal character and mythical grandeur of the film, combined with a constant atmosphere of doom, make it a hugely entertaining project. Despite Cavill’s uncharismatic acting skills. “

Vulture – does not give stars

“The version of Snyder loses itself in all storylines. The film lasts four hours and two minutes, and it should have been three. But without all these melodramatic and sometimes distracting sidetracks, the film would also lose what makes it special.
