The Extreme E is a class of electric SUV that aims to raise awareness of the climate problem through races in remote natural areas. There are five rounds on the calendar for 2021 in Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Greenland, Brazil and Argentina respectively.
“They are both great drivers and I am very curious what they will achieve,” Hamilton said in a statement. “Cristina is an emerging talent with a promising future, I have admired Sébastien for many years. I am proud to have this couple on board. ”
Loeb is not the only rally phenomenon in the Extreme E, which starts in March with a desert race in Saudi Arabia. The Spaniard Carlos Sainz, two-time world champion and three-time winner of the Dakar Rally, is also participating with his own team.
