With the closure of cinemas, there will of course be no new films in the theaters this week. However, various channels and streaming services come with titles that have not been seen before. View the overview of the latest films and series below.


Blood and Money (Pathé Thuis) – action thriller

Tom Berenger (Platoon) plays war veteran Jim Reed in this thriller, who stumbles upon a large amount of money while hunting. Criminals try to catch him in the wilderness of North America, but Jim won’t let that happen overnight.

Target Number One (Pathé Thuis) – thriller

Josh Hartnett plays a Canadian journalist investigating an arrest in Thailand in this thriller. A former addict has been sentenced to a long prison term for drug smuggling, but the police seem to have withheld important information. Target Number One is based on the story of Alain Olivier, who was wrongfully imprisoned in 1987 and wrote a book about it.

The Tax Collector (Apple TV and Pathé Thuis) – crime

In the crime scene of Los Angeles, David drives around forcibly collecting “taxes” from various gangs. But when an old rival shows up, he must protect his own family. Director David Ayer (End of Watch, Suicide Squad) previously wrote the screenplay for the police thriller Training Day and refers to that story in his latest film.

Bill & Ted Face the Music (Pathé Home) – comedy

More than thirty years after his breakthrough role in comedy Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure returns Keanu Reeves (The Matrix, John Wick) back as silly klutz with a time machine. In this third of the Bill & Tedseries, he and his partner must save the world by writing the perfect music track. The couple receives help from their teenage daughters, who travel back in time to engage various historical musicians.

Greenland (Amazon Prime) – disaster movie

With a comet scouring Earth, John has four more days to get his family to safety. On their way to shelter in Greenland, the family encounters growing panic in society. The lead role in this new disaster film is played by Gerard Butler. He and director Ric Roman Waugh previously made the action movie together Angel Has Fallen.

La vita davanti a sé (Netflix) – drama

Italian film icon Sophia Loren can be seen in a feature film for the first time since 2009. The 86-year-old Oscar winner, also known for Una giornata particolare, is in La vita davanti a sé (The Life Ahead) to be seen as a Holocaust survivor with a childcare facility. When she is robbed by a street kid, she decides to take care of him.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (Netflix) – fantasy

Toy maker Jeronicus Jangle (Oscar winner Forest Whitaker) comes up with the most inventive creations, but loses one of his most important inventions after a theft. Granddaughter Journey seeks justice, with the help of a robot with magical powers. The Christmas movie Jingle Jangle mixes fantasy with musical elements.

The United States (Ziggo Movies & Series) – science fiction

Lily and Sergei work for a quantum computer company that has a secretive department. When Sergei is transferred to Devs and suddenly disappears without a trace, Lily investigates. The miniseries The United States is directed by Alex Garland, known for the science fiction thrillers Ex_Machina and Annihilation.

The Durrells in Corfu (NPO Plus) – drama

The single Louisa, mother of four, starts a boarding house in this fourth season of The Durrells in Corfu. In 1939 Greece, however, World War II is getting closer. The latest season can also be seen at Omroep MAX from 18 November.

Los Favoritos de Midas (Netflix) – thriller

This Spanish mini-series is about a wealthy businessman who is being blackmailed by a mysterious organization. Celda 211actor Luis Tosar plays the lead. Director Mateo Gil is best known as the screenwriter of the thriller Abre los ojos and the Oscar-winning Mar adentro. He based his script on the short story The Minions of Midas from 1901.

Inside Pixar (Disney +) – documentary

This documentary series offers a behind-the-scenes look at animation studio Pixar, known for Oscar-winning films such as Toy Story and Inside Out. The series consists of four ten-minute episodes. Pixar’s latest movie Soul is due on Disney + in December. It is not yet known to what extent attention will be paid to that film.

The Crown (Netflix) – drama

This award-winning series about the British Queen Elizabeth has reached the fourth season, which takes place between 1977 and 1990. Diana Spencer and Margaret Thatcher, among others, make their appearance. The young Diana is played in this season by Emma Corrin. Tenetactress Elizabeth Debicki has since been cast to take over the role in the last two seasons. The lead role was last played this season by Oscar winner Olivia Colman (The Favorite). Imelda Staunton will then continue as the British Queen.
