The French police have drawn up at least 1,200 police reports in connection with the illegal New Year’s party in Lieuron. The huge party, which attracted about 2,500 visitors, ended Saturday morning after two days.
The number of official reports may increase even further, because the last four hundred people are still being checked by the police. The checks take place when leaving the site where the party was held.
Of the people who have already been verbalised, about 800 would have violated the corona regulations. According to a regional administrator, this mainly concerns violating the curfew and not wearing a face mask. In addition, hundreds have been fined for drug use.
Minister Gérald Darmanin of the Interior reports that trucks, sound equipment and generators have been seized. Prosecutors have opened an investigation into the organization of the party and the violence against the emergency services.
Party location under control since Saturday morning
The first persons left around 5.30 am on Saturday. Local authorities report that police, who were attacked in an earlier attempted intervention, had the location of the party under control at 10.15 am.
After officers previously failed to end the party, the access roads to the party location were closed to keep out new visitors. From Saturday morning, everyone who left the location was checked.
