The musical Annette, starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, is the opening film of the Cannes Film Festival. Dutch singer Laura Jansen plays a supporting role in the musical film.
“I really enjoy sharing that I have a role in the new film of Leos Carax”, tweets Jansen. “Keep your eyes peeled for the cute and singing nurse number two.”
The Cannes Film Festival usually takes place in May, but has been moved to July 6-17 this year. The musical Annette, which revolves around stand-up comedian Henry (Driver) and famed singer Ann (Cotillard), will premiere on the first day of the festival.
The physical edition of Cannes was canceled last year due to the corona virus. At the time, a small-scale online edition in the form of a film fair for professionals took place.
The details of the upcoming edition have not yet been determined. It is clear, however, that director Spike Lee acts as chairman of the jury, which determines to whom the prestigious film prizes are awarded.
