Max Verstappen sympathizes with team members

Verstappen is sixteen points behind Valtteri Bottas in the World Cup standings and therefore has a chance to finish second. “Although it doesn’t really matter to me whether I finish second or third, we will of course push one more time for a win”, said Verstappen. “As long as the team does that, as you can see from the upgrades and fastest pit stops, I will of course do that too.”

The 23-year-old driver understands that some team members are yearning for the end of a tough season. “I think a lot of team members are ready for a break. People are always asking if it is a tough year for us as drivers, but it is actually tough for the team. They often fly to locations earlier and prepare everything before we even get there. ”

Verstappen finished second in Abu Dhabi last season. “I’m looking forward to the race and I think it’s a great track. After the previous short track in Bahrain with few corners, it is nice to be back on a more normal circuit with 21 corners. We have nothing to lose this weekend either. ”
