The mechanics had to work hard in the garage, because Verstappen had not yet set time. In the end – on mediums – he was still able to go out in time to set a time to qualify for Q3. It earned a round of applause from the people in the Red Bull garage.
Pierre Gasly starts well from P4, Alex Albon starts in sixth position. The Racing Points were surprisingly unable to qualify for Q3. Sebastian Vettel also disappointed heavily in his Ferrari.
