Marvel does not yet want to give the role of deceased Chadwick Boseman to another actor | Movies & Series

Marvel thought it was too early to give the role of the late actor Chadwick Boseman to a new person in the new Black Panthermovie, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige tells the magazine Empire. Boseman played the lead role T’Challa in Black Panther from 2018. The actor died in August 2020 from the effects of colon cancer.

The sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever should be released in November. In that film, Boseman’s character also died. Wakanda Forever is largely about the consequences of his death.

Feige tells Empire that Marvel should be a reflection of the real world. “Our characters and stories are special and imaginative, but everything we do has a recognizable and human aspect,” Feige said.

According to the studio boss, the world is still processing Boseman’s death and director Ryan Coogler has incorporated that into the film.

Black Panther received rave reviews. The film was also seen as a cultural phenomenon, as it featured an almost entirely black cast and crew.
