Kim Jong-un: ‘US is worst enemy, no matter who is in the White House’ | NOW

Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, declared at a party conference in the North Korean capital Pyongyang on Saturday that the United States is his country’s “worst enemy”, regardless of who holds the presidency. Kim responds with this

“Our foreign political activities must be focused on conquering the US, our greatest enemy and obstacle to our development,” said the ‘Supreme Leader’.

At the congress, Kim said he wants to expand his country’s nuclear arsenal. He talks about different sizes of warheads and weapons with which he can attack “preventively and reactively”.

The country is currently working on the development of several new weapons, which Kim says “would not be misused.”

The United States and North Korea have been in talks about denuclearization for two years. Representatives of the countries met for the last time at the end of June 2019. The US demands that North Korea relinquish nuclear weapons, North Korea in turn demands that US sanctions be lifted. So far, the talks have not yet led to an agreement.

Biden only wants to talk to Kim on denuclearization

US President-elect Joe Biden has spoken negatively about North Korea in the past when he called Kim Jong-un a criminal. Biden said last year that he would only talk to Kim if he promised to downsize North Korea’s nuclear arsenal.

Both the incumbent government and Biden’s team have not yet responded to Kim’s statements.
