Jane Fonda will receive the prestigious Cecil B. deMille Award at the upcoming Golden Globes awards. The 83-year-old Grace & Frankieactress will receive the oeuvre prize at the ceremony on February 28, writes E Online Tuesday.
Fonda already has several Globes in her trophy cabinet. Over the years she cashed in seven of a total of fifteen nominations. The actress received the awards for roles in, among others Klute and Coming Home. Both films also earned her an Oscar.
The Cecil B. deMille Award is presented annually to someone who has made an “extraordinary contribution” to the film and entertainment world. Past recipients include Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra, Sidney Poitier, Doris Day and Robin Williams.
The last five winners were Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bridges and last year’s Tom Hanks.
Due to the corona crisis, the Golden Globes will be awarded almost two months later than usual this year. The nominations will be announced on February 3.
