The test days in Bahrain carefully show which teams are ready for the new season and which teams still have to catch up. According to Albers and van Haren, there are surprising teams with ‘struggles’, especially the difficulty Mercedes is having with the new car. In addition, Red Bull and AlphaTauri showed that they are ready for the new season. Will that then lead to the oh so wanted title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen? “It is too early to say anything about that, but Mercedes will not deliver such bad results on purpose,” said Albers. “But such a top team can change a lot in two weeks.”

We also look ahead to the first race of the season. Albers states that Max Verstappen should go for nothing less than pole position. Albers and Van Haren also expect a lot from Pierre Gasly and newcomer Yuki Tsunoda at AlphaTauri. And all this in the last year of engine supplier Honda in Formula 1.

Max Verstappen also has a new first mechanic, there seems to be a nice battle within Haas’s team between opposites Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin and the gentlemen tell about the photographers in the paddock who actually serve as spies for other teams. The winner of the competition from a week earlier will also be announced.
