Harvey Weinstein would have been secretly charged again in the state of California for rape in recent weeks. The charges against the once-celebrated Hollywood producer would have been submitted to a jury and are said to be Fox News Disclosed on Monday during a hearing in New York, where several cases against Weinstein are already pending.
An arrest warrant would also be issued against the producer, who has now been held in a New York prison where he has to serve 23 years. The fact that Weinstein is incarcerated in New York doesn’t mean he can’t be convicted in California. The judiciary there has repeatedly requested that Weinstein be brought to court, in order to also be able to deal with the charges against him there.
In the state of California, Weinstein is now being charged on 11 cases, including rape, sexual assault and assault. Should he be convicted of these offenses, his sentence could be up to 140 years in prison. Which means that the 69-year-old Weinstein will never be released during his life.
In previous trials in New York, where a jury found him guilty of similar cases committed in that state, Weinstein complained that he was not being given a fair trial. According to him, the media had already been so aroused against him by the stories that several women brought out that he was more or less convicted before he could do his side of the story.
