First batch of Moderna vaccines is in the Netherlands

The American company Moderna has delivered the first batch of corona vaccines to the Netherlands. The cargo was delivered by truck on Monday to the Movianto company in Oss. The vaccines are distributed further across the country from the specialized company in Noord-Brabant. It is still unclear exactly how that will happen.

Three new GGD injection locations opened

The injection sites of the GGDs Haaglanden, Amsterdam and Drenthe started on Monday with the vaccination of healthcare workers against COVID-19. The first injection sites opened last week in Veghel, Rotterdam and Houten. Ultimately, the Netherlands will have 25 injection locations for staff from nursing homes and institutions for people with an intellectual disability.

Pfizer and BioNTech increase corona vaccine production

Pfizer and BioNTech plan to make two billion doses of their corona vaccine this year. Originally, the target for this year was a production of 1.3 billion doses. BioNTech reports on Monday that a new production facility will be built in the German city of Marburg. It should be put into operation by the end of February and be able to produce 750 million doses annually.

Friends of Amstel LIVE will continue anyway and will receive a free digital edition

The music event De Vrienden van Amstel LIVE will take place this year anyway. The 23rd edition of the event will take place digitally on Saturday 16 January from an empty Rotterdam Ahoy, beer brewer Amstel and producer Tribe Company announced on Monday.
