‘Fireworks ban alone has little effect on air quality’ | NOW

Due to the corona virus, there is a fireworks ban in the Netherlands this year. As a result, healthcare workers are less pressured and enforcers can more easily monitor compliance with the corona rules. The fireworks ban also has potential benefits for the environment, because the first hours of a new year in which fireworks are set off are normally also among the most polluting.
