The race on the Shanghai International Circuit will be replaced by a race in Imola, Italy. That circuit was also on the calendar last and this season because of the corona crisis.
Due to the pandemic, it is not possible for Formula 1 to go to China for the third year in a row. The Olympic Winter Games will be held in Beijing in February, although there will be no foreign fans and the rules will be very strict.
23 races and Zandvoort
The race at Imola will be the fourth of the 2022 season, presumably on April 24. The kick-off will be on March 20 in Bahrain, followed by races in Saudi Arabia and – for now at least – Australia. The first race will be held in Miami at the beginning of May.
The provisional list includes a record number of 23 races, after the total of 22 races this year. As previously reported, the Grand Prix of the Netherlands will be held on September 4 next year.
