Director Woody Allen makes one more film and then focuses on writing | Movies & Series

Woody Allen will soon stop making films. The 86-year-old director says that Wasp 22 will be his last film and that after that he wants to focus on writing a novel.

“My idea is to stop making films and focus on writing,” the director told the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. The shooting of Allen’s latest film will start this fall and will take place in Europe.

In June, the American filmmaker already said he planned to direct “one or two more” films. “When I used to make movies, they went to movie houses all over the country. Now you make a movie that shows in a movie house for a few weeks before it goes to a streaming service or pay channel. It’s not the same. I like it a lot less fun,” he said at the time.

Allen has been less popular in Hollywood in recent years since he’s been accused of sexual abuse. His daughter Dylan says she was abused by him when she was a child. The director denies that.

In his career, Allen has won twelve Oscars. He also won several BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards.
