Angelina Jolie decided to slow down directing after her divorce from Brad Pitt. In conversation with Entertainment Weekly tells the director and actress that she wanted to be home more often.
The last movie that Jolie directed was First They Killed My Father from 2017. “I think directing is great, but because my family situation changed, it was not possible for me recently,” says the filmmaker.
“I needed work that was shorter in duration, so I could be more at home. So that’s why I took on some acting jobs again. That’s behind it,” said Jolie, who will soon be seen in the thriller. Those Who Wish Me Dead.
In November 2020 it was announced that Jolie will be directing again. She contributes to Unreasonable Behavior, a film based on the autobiography of the same name from 1990. The actress and director films the life of British war photographer Don McCullin, who documented the war in Vietnam, among other things. Jolie’s movie Unbroken from 014 was nominated for three Oscars.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, which is still not finalized. Their six children Maddox (19), Pax (17), Zahara (16), Shiloh (14) and twins Knox and Vivienne (14) mainly stay with her. Eldest son Maddox would not even want to have any more contact with his father.
