Already 10,000 registrations for research into corona in Limburg | NOW

10,000 people have already registered since Friday morning for the research into antibodies and the spread of the corona virus during the first wave. The GGD Zuid Limburg reports this on Friday morning.

At the moment, due to the large number of registrations, only people can be placed on the reserve list. “It is going fast,” said Christian Hoebe, head of infectious diseases of the GGD South Limburg.

The people on the reserve list can be called up for the study if other participants do not show up or drop out.

For the investigation, the GGD in Limburg called on residents of the province from the age of 18 to register. The participants can have themselves tested for antibodies against the corona virus in Maastricht, Venlo, Urmond and Landgraaf.

Hoebe says the investigation will take some time. “We will finish the research before Christmas. Then a lot of work will follow, including checking the data properly. We hope to be able to announce the results sometime early next year”, says Hoebe.
