Alec Baldwin retains starring role in Rust despite prosecution for shooting incident | Movies & Series

Alec Baldwin retains the lead role in the film Peace, although the actor is being prosecuted for the accidental shooting of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins. This is reported by the news agency Reuters.

Baldwin can be seen in the film as the outlawed Harland Rust. “The shooting is still on schedule,” says a lawyer on behalf of the production company behind the film.

Hutchins was killed in the shooting incident on the film set in October 2021. Baldwin was practicing with a revolver, which should not have been loaded. But that turned out not to be the case. The gun went off and Hutchins was fatally struck in the chest. Director Joel Souza was injured. Baldwin is being prosecuted for shooting Hutchins. He is charged with wrongful death.

Gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who oversaw the guns and ammunition on set, is also being prosecuted. Baldwin says he didn’t know the gun was loaded. The Ministry of Justice previously reported on the basis of an investigation that the revolver was not deliberately loaded by anyone.
